About UsThe Loddon Campaspe Centre Against Sexual Assault (LCCASA) was established in 1985 in a small office within the grounds of the Bendigo Hospital, serviced by a handful of dedicated staff.
Changing attitudes towards sexual assault and family violence saw our funding increase over the years to become the broad and diverse service we are today. The concept of sexual assault centres has been around since the 1970's, when the first Rape Crisis Centre opened in Collingwood in 1974. Today there are 15 CASA's across Victoria as well as the Victorian Sexual Assault Crisis Line (1800 806 292). These services all provide free, confidential 24 hour care to victims/survivors of sexual assault. To find out more about the history of CASA, click here |
